I have been feeling stressed out lately...with finding a possible direction as to where I should take my career next. The term, unemployed, would generally mean....take a break, enjoy the summer, then come back refreshed. However, that is not the case with me so far....
Aside from my endless housework, by the way, is what I am trying to finish for my mom before I head off to Hong Kong for good, will lessen her load of work. This puts me in a position that I am dead tired at the end of the day, with major muscle cramps....But, I do have to say the work is fulfilling enough to keep me going.
Ok, I am back to more housework, and watching my beloved TV series.... =)

The meaning of dreams...
I had a very strange dream last night, so I decided to look it up....
I dreamt that I was eating dinner with my family at a very up-scale restaurant, and whatever the waitress offered, we took. From first course to the desserts....and I ended up spending around $489 for the entire meal.
Then my dream took me to my old job where I was filling in for the person that took over my position, and people kept on coming in for questions....I was certainly feeling frustrated....
Then my dream showed that one of my neighbors and I were dating...I was feeling very uncomfortable at this stage of the dream....
And I woke up....
Ok, according to dream dictionary...this is what my dreams meant.
To see your own family in your dream, represents security, warmth and love. Consider also the significance of a particular family member or the relationship you have with them.
To dream that you are in a restaurant, suggests that you are feeling overwhelmed by decisions/choices that you need to make in your life. Alternatively, it indicates that you are seeking for emotional nourishment outside of your social support system.
To dream that you are paying for something, indicates the price you pay for your decisions and actions.
-
To dream that you are at your former or past work, suggests that there is an old lesson that you need to learn and apply to your current situation.
To dream that you feel frustrated, represents your difficulty in coping with a situation in your daily life. It may reflect your concerns that your life is not going in the direction you want.
-
To dream of having a good neighbor, signifies enjoyment and tranquility at home.
To dream that you receive a shock, represents a sudden awakening and new awareness.
To dream about a relationship with a stranger, represents the different sides of your personality.

Going MAD~
I've found the source of my anger and restlessness.
Presently trapped in my home waiting to be relocated to Hong Kong is seriously killing me at the moment.
Extremely anxious to get started on my house hunting, job hunting, finding the meaning in life AGAIN & ASAP.
Although I have been busy being the house slave for the past month & 1/2. I can understand why housewives are depressed. Or, always ended up losing their meaning of life.
I am MAD. slowly going MAD with all the small things that needs to be mended around the house, and all the cleaning, washing, and trimming.
The Food Network has become my constant companion since my mom watches it non-stop.
Geez...I guess I am not cut out to be a housewife, or seriously, take a break from work. I need to drown myself in work.....
I NEED A PURPOSE IN LIFE!!!
How Asian is too Asian?
Let the bitching begin...
My cousin left me a message on my facebook telling me to quit being so Asian. How Asian is Asian? What are the actions that makes a person too Asian? Is it how a person ends their sentences? w/ the la, ba, wor...? Or perhaps the way a person dresses themselves? Or the way they speak? potentially with an accent? Or....the fact that they are drawn to Asian foods in non-Asian countries?
So, how Asian is too Asian?
I am extremely sensitive to this type of criticism due to my 2006 Christmas party, where...well, most of you know what happened there.
Overall, just total disrespect. It is a disrespect to the person they are criticizing, and it is a greater shame because they are, themselves, Asian.
Another thought, I am beginning to find it occuring more often in the US. We, the Asians, afterall, have to criticize whether we were raised in an Asian country or in an non-Asian country.
It's just within our nature.
I am no more Asian than you are.
The end.

LOVE 'NOT' WORKING...
I have been very busy lately with cleaning up my room, getting ready to pack up my things, and trying to make some money from investment to compensate my current unemployment status.
All in all, have been pretty busy lately. I do have to say, it is quite fulfilling!
I have never thought that not working at an actual job can be this fulfilling. Haha.
Daily routine involves getting up in the morning and checking the stock market, and before bedtime, again, check the stock market (Asia).
Reading up on my must-read book list.
Running errands.
Haha.
I dare say, I ENJOY NOT WORKING!!!

More Mexico Stories

The trip to Puerto Vallarta was great except one thing.
THE TIME-SHARE BUSINESS
Upon arrival at the airport, we were immediately swamped by people eagered to help. But, everyone with a little sense knows that...there's no free lunch in the world.
So, we were directly towards what we thought was our transportation....
A tiny counter with a very nice lady behind it, and immediately advising us on what's hip in Mexico, and what to dos & what not to dos.
Until she began asking to meet us at The Westin (a hotel down the street from us) the next day, her time-share claws came out. We politely declined and hurried to our CORRECT transportation pick up spot.
Our hotel informed us that time-share is a very big business in Mexico now, especially in resort towns....hotel staff asked us to stay away from them, and to just tell them, we were leaving the next day to avoid being ambushed.
**
This was a conversation Mr. Bear and I overheard at the Marina.
Eager Time-Share Mexican: Hey Amigos, you look like a happy couple.
Happy Couple: Oh no. (whispers)
Eager Time-Share Mexican: Happy Couple, don't you want to join a tour?
Happy Couple: We are not a happy couple.
Eager Time-Share Mexican: Why not, Senora?
Happy Couple: For reasons you wouldn't even want to know.
Eager Time-Share Mexican: But, I can make you happy again.
Happy Couple: No thanks, we are an extremely not happy couple. Ciao.
(Happy Couple hurried away)
**
Mr. Bear and I did not attempt to try this approach. Instead we just smiled and quickly walk away.
**
Nice place to visit. Extremely Nice Mexicans. Extremely eager time-share Mexicans. A place worth visiting, but stay away from time-share. ANYTHING time-share is deadly.

Mr. Bear and I went to check out engagement rings today, and was surprised to find that a lot of places are priced even more expensive than the Tiffany's. **SHOCKED**
After some searching, Mr. Bear and I have come to the conclusion that even though Tiffany's is much over priced, but the quality is unbelievable. The setting, the cutting, the grade are all superior than other stores. So, our conclusion is to get the ring in HK.
Reason being, more choices, still conflict-free diamonds, and the setting is more to Asian market's taste (nothing too flashy, nothing too bulky-looking), and I am sure prices are cheaper as well.
Just to let you know what the going price for a 0.70 to a 1.0 carat diamond is worth today.
Siba -
0.72, 19KW, E, VVS1 - $7,999
1.0, 19KW, G, VS1 - $8,500
Tifanny's -
0.72, Plat, E, VVS1 - $8,500
1.0, Pat, E, VVS1 - $12,000
Ok, what I am looking at is nothing close to these prices nor sizes. But, just to give you ladies out there a comparison.
For me, if you can find a quality like Tiffany's for less. It's a keeper!
Trust me, once you've looked at the Tiffany's rings, you will never want to find anything less quality. I can now understand why the Tiffany's engagement ring is a must for a lot of ladies out there. But for me, I'd rather look for similar quality that's less pricy. *Haha*

Mr. Bear is here, and I have been off work for the 3rd day today. I must say, I am enjoying every bit of NOT working. Haha...
It is indeed very relaxing.
Well, I still do feel that I will have a very hectic schedule starting June. From renovating the basement to sorting out my room to actual packing to actually steping onto the plane bound for HK. (sorry for the run on sentence). I believe I have a lot of work to finish.
Need to pop clothes into the dryer...

I GOT A STRIPPER
Ok!! I thought my farewell party was over by 1:30pm. But, little did I know, I was in for the biggest shock of my entire life.
By 4:30pm, my boss called me in his room and said, well, let's talk. I was going over cases that needed follow up. All of a sudden, Jil came upstairs and told me that there's an inspector downstairs. (Well, for those of you that have a dirty mind, you know what this is)
I got downstairs, and the inspector insisted on having me to show him the conference room b/c there was something wrong with it. Well, as soon as him and I got into the room. Loud music started blaring off the wall, and he started dancing....
What happened next was the most strange hour of my life.
I GOT A STRIPPER AS A FAREWELL PRESENT!!!
Good Lord, that never crossed my mind....nor would I ever think of having a lap dance.
Haha...

Stay tuned for pictures....

LAST DAY!!!
Officially the last day of work.
Office threw a farewell lunch party for me...w/ costume made powerpoint full of the 5 1/2 year memories of my time spent here. Crazy right? I was so touched by the fact that my fellow co-workers have put in so much time constructing it. At the end of the clip.... I was speechless. Literally, speechless.
When it came time for me to say something...I felt 10 + pairs of eyes staring at me....All I could do was....say, umm.... I am very touched....
Ok, that was lame!! But I have fear of public speaking, and especially, if I am the ONLY speaker in the room.
Overall, I felt blessed and quite happy that I am leaving. I love our co-workers, but it's the clients that I am eager to get away from.
That sounds bad, right? But, I really think all these years of customer service really did a number on me. I fear it completely now. It will be a long while before I head into that realm again.
Starting May 1st. It will be sleep until noon, watch Oprah every weekday, and just veg out time for Princess Sophie.
But, before I go....
Here's my schedule for the 1st 2 weeks of May, since Mr. Bear has arrived. Which = less blogging time for me. =)
May 1st, Victoria
May 2nd ~ 3rd, Whistler
May 6th ~ 11th, Mexico
Then I will be BACK!!
See Ya!!

1 Day Left
Now that I am about to end my employment, I start to wonder what I should do with my spare time.
I have considered taking up some classes to kill time, and to perhaps increase my knowledge. *laugh*
Well, I am thinking of brushing up on my German and Japanese language skills. However, my sister insisted upon improving my Cantonese. Too bad that w/ Cantonese, I just simply lack the motivation to learn. (which is not too good at the present state)
I have taken German for 2 years in high school, and Japanese for 3 years in college. But, to eveyone's amazement, I still can't really make out a complete & logical sentence. ><
So, I shall take time to improve them on my blog...
-
-
私の名前はJeanである (or what my teacher used to call me 'Kan San' de su)
-
Ok, I am getting bored at trying to think of things that I know....
Basically, that's about it~
And in Simple Cantonese, I can invite to you Dim Sum.
Yeah, I am beginning to understand the cruelty behind language barriers.

In Total Disbelief...and Totally MAD...
I encountered a very rude client today. Even though, it was communicated to her that we no longer hold a particular company contract, and thus, the files are transferred back to the parent company.
She did not understand the concept, and when she couldn't fight her way through to get what she wanted with the parent company. She called us, well me, to complain.
At first, I sat there and tried to logically tell her that anything regarding to this particular file will be dealt ONLY between client and the parent company. And that the parent company will not release her information to us.
You know what her reply was?
"Well, I am going to go to the newspaper and report you guys. And by the way, are you sure you did not profit personally from my contract?"
After hearing this, that was icing on the cake, adding fuel to the fire....
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I explained to her that there's no potential reason or method for me to profit personally from your contract or misfortune, nor will going to the newspaper do anything good for you and the parent company.
She then went on indicating that the parent company are not helping her the way she wanted them to. I have no choice but to continue to advise her to contact the parent company...
In this event, what will you guys do? Are all customer service rep. to blame for the termination of company contracts? or as a matter of fact, to be blamed for agents selling products and ran away?
To me, I was shocked at some of the things Asian clients will say to get their way. >"<

a person's kindness could raise hopes
The media has gone overboard by continuing broadcasting the VT event. Instead of making it into a media frenzy, we should allow the families to grief in private; and not poke fun of this horrible situation with Cho speculations.
I remember watching CSI Las Vegas one night, the eposide was about a man suffering through medical problems on a plane, and was showing some mad man behavior which led to the entire plane to kill him. (Well, you can look up the story). Despite the situation @ VT was reversed.
The point of the eposide was, it took the whole plane to kill that man, but it would only take 1 person to save the man, and the horrible situation that had happened.
@ VT's case. It took years of bullying to cause a man mad. But it would only take one person to show kindness, and change the potential mad man's mental state. Thus, this tragedy would have been prevented.
At the end of the day, one person's kindness could raise hopes in a desperate man.

Let's pray for VT, and pray for a more just world
The following article brought back the memories of the student documentary that a friend of mine had done on Asian Canadian Women in Canada. I recentl saw the tape, and I find that most of what was said in the tape showed discrimination as a pressing issue in modern society.
I remember the only time that I was made fun of was the 1st year I went to New Jersey. I was in 7th grade, and spoke little English. I remember I was sitting in History class, and a girl turned to me and asked me. "Where do you get your clothes? From Kmart?" Then her and her friends started laughing.

My ability to understand English was not at full capacity back then, therefore, I just sat there with a blank face. However, another classmate was nice enough to stand up for me. He had told the girl to stop being mean, and quit the act. To this day, I am forever thankful for the gesture.
But that was back in the day, and I wouldn't know what it would be like to be high school post 1996. From what I know, peer pressure can be dangerous, and it should be guarded and supervised closely. Schools should keep a watchful eye on racial remarks, & discriminatory comments. After all, we are all living in a very diversed environment. No one wants to be intentionally categorized in a specific way, everyone is indeed different from one another, despite their color or ethncitiy. See full story

Yahoo should be ashamed
Yahoo is being sued by Human Rights Org. for turning over information that involved political views posted on the Internet by Chinese citizens, as a result, these citizens were detained and tortured. see full story
I have been wanting to express my rage towards Yahoo for a long while now. It stems from my need to search for information on its website, and all the results I come across are from China, and in simplified Chinese. I don't object to the fact that China release information, or they use simplified Chinese; However, I do object to the fact that Yahoo ONLY posts results that are under these 2 requirements.
Taiwan, Hong Kong website, posting in traditional Chinese are all eliminated in favor of China. Are we really into the 生意人 無國界's saying? OR I should say,
Yahoo founder - Jerry Yang should be ashamed of himself...

WWPHS 11 year reunion
Last week, I was notified by my high school 11 year reunion committee on making a reservation for September 1st. I thought it was quite interesting that after 10 years, we are still trying to get everyone together. Although it has become virtually impossible to track down the graduated class of 1996. I do have to say, at least someone is doing it!
Personally, for me, I wouldn't go to any of the reunions....not the 5 yr reunion, the 11 yr reunion, not ever... But, I do have to praised the good works that Chris and the rest of team has put in so far...
Here's the details on the get together..
-
The place is kind of errr... strange.... just read the dress code and you will know what I mean.
All, I have to say, what are you suppose to wear to the reunion?

The Tudors
I finally found episodes 1 & 2 on MSN TV. It took me a week to find this...I guess Showtime really doesn't want anyone outside of USA to watch it....well, I am still trying to find the rest of the episodes....Wish me luck!!!
Here's what's on MSN TV for those of you that would like to watch it.

Divorced, beheaded, died; divorced, beheaded, survived ... the tale of the six wives of England's Henry VIII. In Showtime's "The Tudors," which premieres Sunday, April 1, 2007, viewers will see Henry as never before: young, sexy, intriguing, romantic and infinitely more complex than he's usually depicted. "The Tudors" covers 10 tumultuous years leading to the king's first divorce. Filmed entirely on location in Ireland, the series stars Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Jeremy Northam, Sam Neill, Natalie Dormer, Henry Cavill, Callum Blue and Gabrielle Anwar.

Reese Witherspoon & Jake Gyllenhaal Get Close

Five months after announcing her split from husband Ryan Phillippe, Reese Witherspoon seems to be wading back into the dating pool – with Jake Gyllenhaal, her costar in the upcoming CIA thriller Rendition.Although the two have been careful to avoid the spotlight, they were spotted March 23 dining with two other couples at L.A.'s Il Sole. "They were cuddling," an observer tells PEOPLE in its new issue. "It looked very playful." And now friends of both say the relationship extends beyond the occasional dinner. "In the last month, they've been spending a lot more time together," says a source close to Gyllenhaal, adding that the actor has even met up with Witherspoon, 31, and her kids – daughter Ava, 7, and son Deacon, 3 – in New York City. At 26, he is five years her junior, but "Jake really likes her and isn't at all concerned that she has two kids." See Full Story

My trip to the Tower of London
Showtime premiered a new series called 'The Tudors' this past weekend, and to my dismay, I COULDN'T WATCH IT!! They are showing it in the US only...DAMN!!
However, this has brought me down memory lane again. My 2004 summer break in London.

My visit to the Tower of London.
The place was awesome, except when it's really high up on the towers, the entrance are all blocked off or gated. Also, another strange thing is, the higher you go, the narrower the staircase become. I was surprised at this, b/c I had thought all the guys back then were chubby and probably wear layers of clothing....I wondered how they can get to the top of the tower.
Well, with my evil thoughts on the narrow staircase + chubby men. What happened next was a real shock to me!
As I was walking through the main hall, Henry VIII in full armor caught my attention. My first thought was...DAMN, this man is short and chubby, gosh, how did he attract all his wives?
My friend was pulling my hand urging me to go to the next room, and as soon as I had finished that thought, I spun around to leave.
I went straight into a pole!
The loud bang shocked all the tourists around me, and my glasses came splitting in half....
My friend couldn't stop laughing at me, and I had to pick up my glasses and run as fast as I can out the exit door.
My lesson?
Never, ever, make fun of the proud king - Henry VIII, whom despite his image, could rule a kingdom, and have 6 wives.
Yes, and I do believe he caused my whole embarrassing ordeal.
Nothing will be more memorable than cracking my head open @ the Tower of London

(The White Silk Dress)

Psychotic Behaviors
I have a lot on my mind lately, and one of the topics I have been discussing with a few friends is that Exes shouldn't be in contact after break up.
Recently, I have heard some crazy stories on women trying anything to get a man, or get back with their Exes.
Some of the stories are pretty crazy.....
But, from my own experience, I do believe that once a couple's broken up. Believe me! There's no way in hell they can still be friends. And for the better of each other's future marital bliss, Exs should refrain themselves from ever contacting each other.
Reasons are...
Too much baggage. All the history will kill you both.
Current & Ex partner comparison. Seriously, they are different people...
The urge to perform some psychotic actions that you will regret later on
The unknown post-break up period. Did we really break up? DID WE REALLY BREAK UP??
Then back to the psychotic behaviors.
Ok! To my current partner's exes. Please let it go! Or I will let YOU go! (In a 'result in possible bodily harm' way)
And to other ppl's exes. You can find a better man/woman.
Truth is, they've moved onto great beings, and you should too!
