9-year-old runaway snuck on two flights

Here's a good story for ya...

You have to be a pretty sharp (albeit troubled) kid to know how to a) steal cars and b) drive them. Nine-year-old Semaj Booker has done both. Three times, according to his mother. She says he learned how to drive by playing video games. If only the story ended there.On Sunday, Semaj stole a car from his neighborhood near Tacoma, Washington. (In each instance, the cars had been running while their owners were temporarily out of sight.) The fourth-grader wound up leading police on a high-speed chase. The cops wanted to put Semaj into juvenile detention, but were told he's too young. So they took the boy home.The next morning, Semaj snuck out of his house and took a bus to the Seattle airport. He went to the Southwest ticket counter and gave a fake name. According to this mother, he told the ticket agent his last name is "Williams." The agent looked in her computer and said, "Frank Williams?" Semaj answered, "Yep," and off he went with the boarding pass with the name "Frank Williams."He got through security with no issues, because children don't need photo id. Semaj hopped on a plane that stopped briefly in Phoenix before heading on to San Antonio. He tried to get on a third flight for Dallas where the boy still has family, but Southwest figured out something wasn't right and called airport police. (The airline told us it's investigating the incident.)Semaj is now in a shelter in San Antonio until authorities figure out what to do with him. He's been charged with car theft and eluding police, but prosecutors may drop the case because he's so young.Obviously, this kid is pretty smart. How else could he pull off something like this? Let's just hope he gets some help and is able to put his mind to good use someday.As for the real Frank Williams ... there's no word on what happened to when he checked in for his flight. So Mr. Williams, if you or anyone who knows you is reading this, we hope you'll let us know what happened when you went to pick up your ticket.

Nightmares go AWAY!!!

Last night, I was woken up to a noise in my room, and in the mist of shock, I bounced up to have a look....then the worst thing happened to an OLD lady.....CRAMPING muscles!!!

Seriously, I have not had a good night sleep since the Christmas incident, and have constant nightmares of being chased, watched, or house being broken into.

Again, I had to turn on my light and return to bed for the rest of the night. And to harvest my paranoia, I brought up a golf club from the basement for protection! **I am going insane**

Please, please, nightmares, please go away!!

I have dark circles under my eyes, and I am tired....

I am literally turning into one hell of a scary movie myself.

Black Hair~

I am known to be impulsive to my friends, and since last night, I have come to the conclusion that doing ANYTHING on impulse is not good. Everyone should always ponder on what you want to eat, buy, or do for at least 3 hours before actually doing it.

The reason for this blog is....

I have dyed my hair black last night...I mean....BLACK!!!

I don't know what to say about what I have done to myself. My face actually looks pale against my black hair, and it scares me!

In the mornings, I look like a typical Korean/Japanese scary movie character.

Hmmm....I think I am going to go climb out of a well, and hunt somebody down!

In exactly one week, I will be enroute to Koh Samui, Thailand!!! I can't wait for the long awaited, doing nothing all day, journey. After an eventful 2006, this will be a well-deserved vacation for me.

Also, I will be house hunting in Hong Kong after I get back from Thailand....

That will not be fun at all...

It will be limited posting for me this week, and probably until the 27th....

Jake Gyllenhaal Makes Your Fireman Fantasies Come True

Oscar-nominated actor Jake Gyllenhaal, 26, played firefighter on Wednesday after he and his sister, actress Maggie Gyllenhaal, 29, were forced from their beds due to an early morning fire at Manka's Inverness Lodge in the San Francisco Bay area of California. According to the Marin Independent Journal, the Gyllenhaals -- who frequently vacation at the inn -- were among the dozen or so guests that fled into the wind and rain at close to 3 a.m. "Jake was helping me pull things out of the fire," chef and co-owner Daniel DeLong told the Journal, adding that the actors were helpful and concerned about the historic lodge. The fire reportedly started after a tree crashed into the back of the inn, catalyzing a fire that destroyed the main building and its world-renowned restaurant where Prince Charles dined last year. No injuries were reported. DeLong said they were coming off a great Christmas holiday during which he cooked grits for the Gyllenhaals, as well as actress Frances McDormand and her husband, filmmaker Joel Coen, whose credits include Fargo, The Big Lebowski and O Brother, Where Art Thou? This blaze is the second celebrity-related fire in the last eight days. On December 20, the Hawaiian home of Lost’s Evangeline Lilly burned to the ground, possibly due to a faulty electrical socket. There were no injuries as the house was empty at the time of the incident.

名模林志玲 - 把自己看小，把事情做大

人紅難免會遭忌。然而「第一名模」林志玲人氣雖旺，卻始終能以高EQ、好人緣著稱。私底下的她，認真、誠懇，沒有架子……

12月20日晚上6點8分，金鐘獎頒獎典禮前，林志玲終於化好了妝、步出飯店房間，20幾個工作人員以長長的隊形，將林志玲包在中間，快步穿過高雄金典飯店的大廳，前往金鐘獎典禮會場。
為了盡可能地捕捉林志玲的鏡頭，在不斷與凱渥經紀部溝通、協調後，記者終於得到在飯店拍照的機會。
當人龍走來，林志玲在助理的指示下立刻就地停步、擺好姿勢，攝影記者顧不得取景角度，只能立刻按下快門，按了第1下，一旁馬上有人喊「好了」趕人，拍攝的時間，前前後後短到不到「30秒」。
然後這個大陣仗旋風繼續向前掃過，讓一旁的民眾都站著看呆了。
要採訪當紅的林志玲，麻煩度真的很高。
除了拍照時間極度短暫，採訪地點、時間也一改再改。我們一度懷疑，林志玲真的適合談「學做人」嗎？
直到我們接觸到林志玲本人。她耐心、禮貌地回答所有問題，原定30分鐘的採訪，讓我們足足問了1小時，結束前她以慣有的甜美嗓音說：「如果還有什麼問題，我這幾天都還在台灣，還可以再問我」。這是連一般人受訪時都很少會提及的話，她的體貼，讓之前經歷的採訪曲折都一筆勾銷了。

親自感謝別人

「她是我看過很會做人的人，」負責林志玲出席大型晚會所有造型的凱渥秀導兼造型師時家寧分析，在這個行業，每個人都滿自我中心的，對美，每個人心中都有一把尺，「很多藝人看到不喜歡的衣服就會直接說『我不要』，但其實會辜負別人的精心準備。」但林志玲不會讓自己的主觀喜好，抹煞了別人的努力和心思。時家寧說，造型師準備的每一件衣服，林志玲都一定會試穿，就算是她自己最不喜歡的動物紋款式，也是如此，「她會說『好，我去試給大家看，等到通通都試完，我們再來討論』。」
因為走到哪裡都是鎂光燈的焦點，一舉一動都有人要評論，性格要求完美的林志玲壓力真的很大。可是她從來不會把自己的壓力轉嫁到別人身上。時家寧說，林志玲反而還會刻意壓住自己的緊張，讓身邊的人可以在輕鬆的氣氛下工作，表現得更好。
在去年的亞太影展頒獎典禮上，林志玲要表演才剛學的印度舞，典禮前和舞者綵排時，「雖然我們都看得出來她很緊張，舞者也很緊張，但她會和舞者說『我們再一起試一次好嗎？剛才很棒』，來激勵大家，」時家寧印象深刻地說。
而身為一個當紅藝人，也註定是要得罪人的。紛至杳來的邀約，不可能個個盡如人意，因此就要倚賴經紀人負責拒絕邀約，同時又要長袖善舞地與人保持一定的關係。但是林志玲不會只這麼處理，假如有必須推掉的邀約，只要對方是認識的人，她不管再忙、再累，都會盡量親自打電話給對方、或當面和對方說明。
「我覺得透過別人是不夠的，我一定要自己去面對，然後透過眼睛去告訴他們我的誠意，」林志玲輕聲細語說著，語氣卻很堅定。

令人意外的舞蹈與彎腰

為了保護林志玲，經紀人和助理就連與代言品牌合作時也會隨侍在側、層層把關。但林志玲本人絕不端架子，反而會自己把一切沒必要的形式減到最低。
有一次，林志玲所代言的浪琴錶要舉行記者會，由於主題是「舞伶」，所以浪琴錶副總經理張正勳希望可以請林志玲表演一段舞蹈，但經紀人認為不適合，怎麼也不同意。林志玲在旁聽到了這個情形，等到出場時，她自己偷偷脫了鞋，光著腳上台，在原本只是要擺擺pose的段落中，跳起一段長長的舞。
讓張正勳驚訝的還不止於此，今年6月，浪琴錶邀請林志玲到西安宣傳，與當地100多位經銷商一起吃飯，當一桌一桌的經銷商走到台上，和林志玲合照、握手，張正勳注意到，身高174公分又穿高跟鞋的林志玲，一定會膝蓋微彎，蹲到和對方一樣的高度，眼神平視地和對方握手。「她就那樣總共蹲了80幾次，我從來看不到任何一個藝人這麼做！」因為代言活動經常與港台大明星互動的張正勳大聲驚嘆：「這就是她的身段，她的身段非常軟。」
當時坐在張正勳旁邊的浪琴錶全球總裁也看到了林志玲的這個舉動，對她更加讚賞，後來也因而邀請林志玲代表出席瑞士巴塞爾鐘錶展，也因為那次出席，林志玲有機會在其他國際媒體前曝光，成為大家注目的焦點。

會做人，就是做自己

但林志玲的軟身段，卻不是處處配合的鄉愿。
過去其實相當「逆來順受」的她，現在也有所改變。林志玲自己描述，現在工作時，一定會嘗試表達出自己的想法，試著慢慢地說服別人，然後用大家再熟悉不過的甜美語調和合作的夥伴說：「那我們來試試看。」
這樣的改變，其實是工作多年所驗證出來的心得。「我覺得在什麼環境都要能收能放，配合度要高，可是自己的想法還是要有，因為最了解自己的就是自己，」林志玲現在體會到：
「如果希望作品好，就一定要把自己的想法表達出來，因為只有自己知道自己能做到什麼程度、做什麼效果最好。」
「我覺得會做人，就是做自己，」談到做人，林志玲沉吟思索了一會兒，才一個字一個字地緩緩說道：「因為做自己，人家喜歡你、接受你，那才是真的。」
當然，永遠是甜美笑容、只讚美別人的林志玲，不免讓有些觀眾覺得她形象完美到有點像是假象。可是，問起熟悉林志玲的人，大家反而都覺得她是非常真誠的人。「我完全不覺得她ㄍㄧㄥ或者在裝，她下了台之後，就還是那個樣子，」認識林志玲已經8年的時家寧說，她從來都沒有什麼改變。
「每次有人說她假，我聽了都會很不高興，」張正勳更是為林志玲感到不平：「因為她真的一點都不做作。」
請林志玲代言植物優2年多的愛鮮家總經理梁家銘也中肯地觀察，「她做人處事是很希望圓滿的，雖然不見得能討好所有的人，但是她很誠懇，對一個藝人來說，已經很難了。」
在採訪的過程中，林志玲一直強調，很希望自己能做到誠懇，「我剛開始出來的時候，我覺得大家對我打上太多的問號了，有很多的質疑，」講到這裡，林志玲有些激動。於是她決定給自己一段時間，讓大家一步一步地認識她，「現在我雖然不知道自己做得怎麼樣，但每一天我都希望讓人家感受到我的真誠。」
事實上，在專訪的過程中，林志玲不像許多藝人習於表面的友善，反而一直很認真地思考，試著充分回答每個問題。她的誠懇，已經讓我們感受到了。
把自己看小，才能把事情做大。那一種比平凡人還把自己放低的誠懇，正是林志玲式的做人之道。

I have dished out countless negative remarks on models over the years, and to be honest, I have also dished out harsh criticisms on the way she talks over the years.

All my prejudice was mistaken, and I should say that I was completely WRONG in my judgement.

Why is that?

Although, I have never met her in person, nor have I spoken to her directly.

I have met her mother, and her mother is as gracefully as a queen. Without a doubt, this is where she learned her manners - at home!

In 2005, I had the chance to attend an event that was hosted by the National Science Centre of Taiwan, where she was the spokesperson for an exhibit. Unfortunately, she wasn't able to attend the opening ceremony, and instead her mother came as an invited guest.

I was quite shocked at her mom's graceful presentation throughout the event. Let me assure you that wherever there's celebrity or govt officials, there's ruthless paparazzi trying to get photos.

But, she was never angry, and even stopped for interviews and photographs, and on top of that, she even shook hands with them.

Overall, she never lost her temper nor appeared annoyed.

People might still think she is fake, but, to be fake this long and never appeared rude in public, has to take a very high EQ to do so. Even though, vanity is not what we should be looking for, we can't say that she is not portraying a better image on the celebrity status.

Celebrities are supposed to be role models, b/c of their constant public appearances, and I have yet to see many that lived up to the role model standards.

So, I will have to conclude that 林志玲's got her head in the right places!

Dying of Extreme Embarrassment~

Aside from being sick the WHOLE trip to Seattle, the shopping was definitely fun! (NOT!)

We've decided that since we were going to do some major shopping, so we shouldn't bring overnight clothing...except our PJs.

Good times didn't stay for long...by the next morning I was so grossed out by the fact that I was still wearing the 'day-before' clothing, and that I still haven't found anything to buy yet, I stormed into the first store I saw and purchased a new entire outfit. Top to bottom!

Me talking to a sales lady in the dressing room...

Me: Excuse me! I'd to purchase everything that I am trying on, and is it possible that I wear it out of the store?

Sales Snob: I am sorry? Wear it outside? As in, outside the store?

Me: Yes! But I will pay for them before I wear them outside!

Sales Snob: Umm...I suppose. But can you please take all the clothing off and give it to me first? I need to cut off the tags.

Me: OK! Thank you!

As I was wondering around the store...I heard her whispering to the counter lady....

Sales Snob: ....yeah....she wants to wear it outside now.

Counter Lady: ....huh?....is her clothes dirty or what? Geez...

And I walked up and paid for my new clothes with extreme embarrassment....

But as if that wasn't enough for me....

My dear Sharon had to stay in the store for an extra 30 minute for her selection of coats.....

I've learned my lesson for the new years....

Always bring fresh clean clothes on over night trips~
