穿白絲綢的女人 (The White Silk Dress)

Psychotic Behaviors

I have a lot on my mind lately, and one of the topics I have been discussing with a few friends is that Exes shouldn't be in contact after break up.

Recently, I have heard some crazy stories on women trying anything to get a man, or get back with their Exes.

Some of the stories are pretty crazy.....

But, from my own experience, I do believe that once a couple's broken up. Believe me! There's no way in hell they can still be friends. And for the better of each other's future marital bliss, Exs should refrain themselves from ever contacting each other.

Reasons are...

Too much baggage. All the history will kill you both.
Current & Ex partner comparison. Seriously, they are different people...
The urge to perform some psychotic actions that you will regret later on
The unknown post-break up period. Did we really break up? DID WE REALLY BREAK UP??
Then back to the psychotic behaviors.

Ok! To my current partner's exes. Please let it go! Or I will let YOU go! (In a 'result in possible bodily harm' way)

And to other ppl's exes. You can find a better man/woman.

Truth is, they've moved onto great beings, and you should too!

2007 Taiwanese Film Festival (April 6th ~ 8th, 2007)

A friend emailed me the link to the Vancouver's 1st Annual Taiwanese Film Festival and I thought to share the information with all my fellow blogger.

As you guys may have known, Vancouver has a Vancouver International Film Festival & Asian Film Festival every year. But, not a film festival that is dedicated purely to promoting Taiwanese Films.

But, now the dream has come true to its creators...

Among the list of films being introduced this year, there's one that is worthy of special acknowledgement.

'Do Over' directed by Cheng Yu-Chieh, was recognized at this year's San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival (March 15th ~ March 25th, 2007). I believe the film is worthy of great audiences.

Please come and support TWFF.

I was parking my car in the London Drug parking lot in Richmond last night, and little did I know, right next to my car was this used condom. You'd think London Drug would be a busy place for any hot sex scene.
Also, etiquette would be to properly dispose of your plastic after usage! =(

I was browsing the United Nations Website this morning, and I remember for a long time that I have wanted to work for the UN, but was too lazy to research on how to actually apply for it.
I thought today would be the day that I finally research the positions I want to apply for. UN website required me to register and leave them a detailed personal history record. And then I will research on the positions that I want, and submit my resume.
What I didn't realize is that, UN jobs are categorized into countries. Even though resumes are sort thorugh by the UN headquarter, you would still need to indicate which country you would like to work in. The true obstacle was....
As I was filling out my personal history section, suddenly it dawned on me. UN does not recognize Taiwan nor Hong Kong. UN recognizes China only.
Don't get me wrong, I don't have anything against the UN, but I have something against the lack of choices for me to fill out my birth country. I ended the session without filling out my birth country, and unable to complete my registration.
Currently in need to figure out a way to contact the UN without clicking China as my birth country.

Bored after work~

Such a long day at work. Currently still at work. I am here not b/c I have work to do, but b/c I am waiting for my sister to get off work, so we may go home.
I work at a financial service field, so the hours are pretty normal. However, my sister works at an event planning company, which can take up to 12 hour per work day. I don't think there's anything wrong with it, except the fact that her benefits are not good due to lack of funding in the company. Also, another point that the company isn't great is due to the owner's employee selection process. Let's just say that certain employee should be fired a thousand times already.

I will stop here b/c I don't want to make this entry into another free ranting essay on how unjust my sister's company is.

-
I think it's about 40 more days until I am officially a couch potato. Also another 30 more days until I officially relocate to Hong Kong.

Times does fly by quickly, doesn't it?

Ker, We have to get together before I leave!! Let me know your schedule!!

More venting....

A friend had her History of Taiwan class at UBC recently, where a guest speaker was invited to address the class on Taiwan. The guest speaker was Taiwanese, and is a high-ranking official from the Kuomintang Party in Taiwan. Wait, I forgot to say, pretty highly educated as well.

At the end of the speech, all students were asked to write an essay on their opinions on the guest speakers and his topic discussion.

As a result, some of the students wrote about how great China and its economy is at the moment, and how it is great that Taiwan is relying on China economically.

Errr......

Here's what's wrong with his speech.
    1. Taiwan is not part of China.
    2. China's economy is not Taiwan economy.
    3. Taiwan should not be so dependent on China economically.
    4. China's current economy is over heated, and the bubble will burst.
    5. He showed a graph with more Taiwanese admitting that they are in the category of 'Taiwanese & Chinese' when asked what nationality they are. Which is NOT true. When given a choice. Most of Taiwanese will label themselves as TAIWANESE.
*Currently running around with my head in my hands in disbelief*

      Conclusion !
      1. The guest speaker is NOT Taiwanese, OR
      2. Doesn't consider himself Taiwanese.
      3. He should go shoot himself right now.

Class of 1997: 10 Years Later; by: Oliver Wang (SFIAAFF)

Six filmmakers, four narrative features, one year. The Class of 1997 comprised Quentin Lee and Justin Lin's SHOPPING FOR FANGS, Rea Tajiri's STRAWBERRY FIELDS, Michael Idemoto and Eric Nakamura's SUNSETS and Chris Chan Lee's YELLOW. The arrival of this quartet in time for the '97 SFIAAFF may have just been coincidence, but looking at the long-term evolution of Asian American independent filmmaking, it's as if a critical mass had been waiting to coalesce. FAR*EAST MOVEMENT

Ok, friends, I suppose I am not the only one having pre-spring blues. Apparently, most of my dear friends are having them as well. Well, maybe except for Mr. Lamb, whom is crazy in love at the moment. (Miss U Too) *hahaha*

Anyway, let's pray that this is just a temporary insanity thing, and we will all be back to normal by April 1st. (btw, Mr. Lamb, I was talking about being blue here.) ;)

      Why am I blue lately?

That is b/c I have not fulfilled any of my 2007 goals yet. Which is not surprising, taken that Princess Sophie always changes her mind on a whim. (a very typical 'horse' trait)

What is my point, you ask. Err...I don't have a point at the moment.

Maybe I shall finish my entry after I am done with work.

      Patience Needed~

Extremely exhausted lately from training new staff. I wonder if all this training is necessary and will they actually understand what it is that needs to be done.
I am still getting calls from clients, where as, I should be the backup support for new staff. Slowly, I am getting tried, and less patient with all these questions, and I just repeat myself one after the other.
Sometimes I feel like the materials that I've trained in the last couple of months may not be registering in their heads. But then again, who's perfect at the beginning of a job right?
All in all, I believe I am in need of a change of environment, and perhaps, some time to reflect on what I should be after in Hong Kong.

The Sundance Kid - Justin Lin

Justin Lin, director for the well-known movie 'Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift'. This article might be a bit old, but it's worth reading...
      -
      The Sundace Kid
      Interviewed By Oliver Wang
Arts: Filmmaker Justin Lin discusses being young, urban, Asian American and the target of a Hollywood bidding war.

Filmmaker Justin Lin does not have a string of hit movies, an eight-digit studio budget, or even a marquee cast of Hollywood stars. But he does possess something equally powerful: buzz. The Asian American director and his upcoming Better Luck Tomorrow became instant causes célèbres at this year's Sundance Film Festival when a disgruntled viewer stood up during a Q&A session to complain, "What kind of a portrait is this of Asian Americans? Don't you have a responsibility to paint a more positive and helpful portrait of your community?" To his defense came none other than Roger Ebert, who stood up in the theater to rebuke the amateur critic, saying, "You would never make a comment like that to a white filmmaker." See full story

      Damn you! Fortune Tellers!!!

I have been feeling a bit down lately, and obviously, not really in the mood to write much.

I might regret saying this in the future. *Might*, being the key word. Maybe I won't regret it after all. Recently, being a proud Asian that I am; I went to see a fortunate teller.

This is my source of 'being in the rut' lately.

Originally, I had planned to get married in 2008, and after I have settled into my Hong Kong life. However, this is apparently not what she saw in my near future.

Don't get me wrong, I will still get married, according to her, but the time line urgently needed to be moved up to this year.

Even as soon as July of 2007. As you can tell, this has caused me quite a bit of stress. I am not even physically in Asia at the moment, and I needed to start planning already?

This all sounded ridiculous to me, and of coz I was totally freaked out!!

On top of that, she mentioned that if I don't get married in the first half of 2007, N & I will break up at the end of this year.

      Let's just say....

It's better not knowing anything at all.

I don't believe that I should rush into marriage, nor should I believe the fact that N & I will break up if we are not married right away.

I was in a bit of a rut due to the fact that, I can't believe I brought myself to go see her!!

N thought I was temporarily insane after the fortune telling session....

I heard my fortune, I went nuts, I came home, and I called him....

And warned him that if we break up at the end of 2007.....

I am taking half of his assets....

      Hahahahahahahahhahahhaa................

      It really sounds funny now....

But, imagine the dead silence at the end of the cordless headset......

      It wasn't pretty at all.

I could sense World War V creeping up my spine.

Miss Perfect & Miss Easy Way

Remember my last entry on saving money for the 2nd half of 2007? Well, that just went out of the window!

I found my 'urgent purchases' ....

In addition to Miss Marc...I hereby introduce Miss Perfect & Miss Easy Way by D&G.
